Duchess Sophie receives shock as Edward's ex exposes private details

Prince Edward appeared to have landed in an uncomfortable position with his wife Duchess Sophie following a confession from his ex-girlfriend Ruthie Henshall.

Edward and Ruthie reportedly had a very passionate affair from 1988 to 1993, before he met with his now-wife, Sophie.

Ruthie, who recently released a book about her life, confessed some ‘bedroom secrets’ which has left Sophie “embarrassed” about it. Ruthie also spoke about how “desperately” they tried to make things work among other intimate details of their relationship.

Sophie and Edward have been married for more than 15 years and have been through worse, but the blast from the past isn’t something that she was looking forward to.

Edward, who seems to have taken it in good stride and even have an approval to the book, may not have expected Sophie’s reaction.

“Edward thinks Sophie’s remarkable how she handles high-pressure situations like this – she never loses her cool and always has solutions, not just problems,” a Palace source told Woman’s Day.

“However, Sophie’s a master at putting on a good show and behind closed doors she’s told friends it’s disturbing to know Ruthie essentially walked away from Edward’s marriage proposal,” they continued.

“While he might brush it aside, it’s knocked the wind out of Sophie’s sails,” they added.

“She’s rehashing a lot of memories and it irks her to think she may have been a rebound for Edward, and Ruthie will always be the one who got away.”

Prince Edward is now growing worried about how Sophie is handling it. It remains to be seen if the King’s brother would take an action and ask Ruthie to tone down on her promotions of their past relationship.
