King Charles' emotional Balmoral welcome: Bagpipes, tears, tradition

King Charles has finally returned to Balmoral, the place close to his heart, for a special honour from the Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

The British monarch, who serves as Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment, is welcomed with a Guard of Honour during a formal arrival ceremony.

The Pipes and Drums of the 2nd Battalion provide musical accompaniment to celebrat the moment.

Aspecial element of today's ceremony is the presence of the first two members of the newly revived Balmoral Highlanders, positioned outside the castle's front gate.

Prince Harry and Prince William's father personally re-established the group, which had been dissolved in 1936 during the reign of his great-grandfather, George V.

Their Highland dress frezes eyes as it draws inspiration from the original uniforms worn during the late nineteenth century.

The kilts and plaids feature the Balmoral Glen Gelder tartan, a pattern created by The Scottish Tartans Authority at the King's request.

The event undoubtedly reveals the King's commitment to preserving and restoring the traditions of the Balmoral Estate, the lateQueen's most favourite place to rest and have fun with he family.
