Meghan Markle has always spoken of her life in Montecito with high praise and has shown a rose-coloured image of the happy family that lives in a multi-million-dollar mansion.

Even though the Sussexes’ luxury lifestyle appeared perfect, there were issues growing behind closed doors as the Duchess of Sussex struggled with one crucial thing about raising Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, before deciding to move back to the UK.

She feared that her children would not get the attention if she was too busy with running the household. According to sources cited by Page Six, the mum of two was struggling to keep up as housekeepers in Montecito kept quitting.

“She had trouble hiring maids because a lot of the housekeepers in Montecito didn’t want to work for them,” a source revealed. “Meghan would interview people herself and could come across as really snobbish and rude.”

The insiders added that some of them were “so offended” by the way they were spoken to that “word started getting around. Meghan’s alleged reputation among local housekeepers also seemed to have a running joke that “all the maids in Montecito hated the [Sussexes]”.

It appears things got tough for Meghan, who also runs her brand As Ever, to find housekeeper and manage everything properly.

There is no official comment from the Sussex team at this time. However, four staffers have reportedly quit the Sussexes service up until June 2025.
