Gwyneth Paltrow has put her dinner plans with Sam Altman on hold after an event caused massive buzz on the internet.

The actress had planned to welcome the OpenAI CEO to her home in Amagansett, New York, for a private dinner on August 29.

The evening was meant to be small and relaxed, with guests enjoying food and talking about different topics.

But the plan quickly became controversial.

Many people, however, questioned the idea of Paltrow hosting Altman at a time when Hollywood is already worried about artificial intelligence.

Actors, writers and filmmakers have raised concerns about how AI could affect their jobs and creative work.

Some people online called the planned dinner “tone deaf.”

Paltrow, anyways, didn’t seem too bothered by the first wave of criticism so instead, she joked about it on Instagram.

She shared edited invitations featuring characters including Shrek, M3GAN and Jessica Rabbit instead of Altman.

She, moreover, also joked that guests would be served “swordfish burritos” and “cheddar foam lattes.”

The mood has now changed. A source told PEOPLE that the dinner has been postponed and is unlikely to happen.

Now, neither Paltrow nor Altman publicly confirmed the dinner yet.
