Oscar-winning star Helen Mirren's cheeky MobLand confession

Helen Mirren has made a funny confession about her role in MobLand.

The actress is returning as Maeve Harrigan in the second season of the crime drama.

Maeve is a powerful woman who is not afraid to use a gun, make plans or get revenge.

But Mirren says she hopes she is not too much like her character in real life.

Speaking to the Radio Times, she said: “It just fits me like a glove, and it's slightly worrying because I hope I'm not remotely like Maeve.”

The actress said she does not have Maeve's love of making plans, swearing or getting revenge. Still, she said she “absolutely love” playing her.

Mirren also shared what happens after a day of filming.

She said she would go home and think about why playing Maeve felt “so easy” for her.

That made her joke: “There must be some flaw in my character.”

Fans will soon see Mirren back in action when season two arrives on Paramount+ on September 18.

Pierce Brosnan and Tom Hardy are also returning. The new season will bring more danger, family problems and big surprises as Maeve and Conrad Harrigan continue their fight for power.
