There was a time when it seemed impossible for King Charles to ever open his doors for his younger son Prince Harry, when the monarch delivered blow after blow to the Sussexes.

Harry and Meghan were kicked out of their Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, following the release of the memoir Spare. It was believed that Charles was left absolutely livid as Harry referred to Camilla as the ‘evil stepmother’.

Moreover, Harry’s remarks about the ‘establishment stitch-up’ and the security row did not help the situation. Although, in a surprise turn of events, Harry and his family were meeting the King this year, weeks later, the Sussexes are back in the UK.

Now, all eyes are on Prince William and Princess Kate as to what they would do next. There is hope among royal watchers that the brothers would eventually reunite but the future King has a major sticking point which is blocking the reunion, according royal expert Robert Jobson.

Like father like son, William “wasn’t prepared” to see Harry make comments about Catherine, to whom Harry had referred as a “sister he never had”.

The royal biographer noted that William could take comments about himself but not his wife.

“I think he could take a lot of things being said about him, but he wasn’t prepared to have things said about her when she’s not in a position to answer back.”

He explained that The Waleses are not going to get involved but rather “rise above” the noise coming from the Sussexes.

“I think that they'll probably think, well, we've been down this road before; It creates a circus, and we’re not going to get involved.”
