Queen Camilla reads out historic letter as Harry makes surprise visit

King Charles' office rleased Queen Camilla's emotional video with a meanigful message as Prince Harry made first appearance since his return to the UK.

The Queen, 79, who is patron of the National Literacy Trust, read a letter written in 1952 by the Queen Mother to the British poet Edith Sitwell.

The royal family's official Instagranm account shared the video of the Queen with an update, writing: "The Queen takes to the @LettersLive stage at the Royal Festival Hall, reading a beautiful thank you letter sent by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother to British poet Edith Sitwell."

King Charles' wife, who's grabbing headlines for her seet gesture to Prince Harry and his family, took to the stage at the Royal Festival Hall on Thursday evening in an unannounced appearance at the annual Letters Live event.

 The Queen's video came after photos of Prince Harry's surprise visit to a central London studio went viral.

The choice of letter highlights transformative power of literature. The letter, dated September 15, 1952, was composed months after the death of King George VI and described how the grieving widow had found solace in an anthology of poetry that Ms Sitwell had sent her.
