Meghan Markle releases carefree holiday photo after King reaffirms Sussexes’ status

Meghan Markle has posted a laid-back vacation snap just hours after King Charles made his position on the Sussexes’ return to the UK clear.

The Duchess of Sussex shared the sunny snap on Instagram on Monday, showing herself crouched on the grass alongside Pula as the black dog appeared to investigate a basket of fresh produce.

Meghan kept things relaxed for the outdoor moment, wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat with a striped shirt and light trousers.

Pula, meanwhile, looked more interested in the basket than the camera as Meghan reached out to him.

The caption from the As Ever page read: “Keeping cool, calm and happy.”

She also added: “Long weekend plans with As ever ????”, referencing her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and giving the post a distinctly summery, home-life feel.

In a letter sent by the King’s Lord Chamberlain to senior stakeholders including government, military and Lord Lieutenant representatives, the monarch reiterated that the Sandringham agreement remains in place.

Under the arrangement reached after the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties, Harry and Meghan remain private individuals rather than working members of the Royal Family.
