Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are understood to be settling in their new routine after their return to Britain.

It is believed that the couple will be taking on charitable and commercial activities on their own accord as private citizens. However, that did not stop the media frenzy surrounding their possible return to the royal fold. So much so that King Charles had to issue a letter to clarify any confusion.

The letter, which was issued through the Lord Chamberlain at the King’s direction, was received by the Sussex team “shortly before the rest of the world”, according to a source via Rob Shuter.

“Their team received the message,” the royal insider revealed. “There was no negotiation. They were informed. That was the moment they realised they had underestimated William’s power.”

Sources claimed that it was Prince William’s pressure that urged the King to set clear boundaries about how the public viewed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their affiliation with the royal family.

Harry and Meghan were “stung” by the letter because they hoped that they could improve relations with royals and “create an informal place around the family”.

“They’re starting to question whether this return can work,” the insider said. “William can close doors faster than they expected.”
