Breanna Stewart reflects on representing Team USA at FIBA World Cup

New York Liberty star and WNBA legend Breanna Stewart has reflected on wearing Red, White, and Blue at the FIBA World Cup.

Breanna is leading the Team USA in pursuit of her fourth World Cup gold.

Stewart, while reflecting on her journey so far at the FIBA World Cup in Berlin, said, “It feels great. I think that any time I can represent Team USA I want to.”

“I’ve had the incredible opportunity of being able to do it for a long time and since I was really young, and every time I get the call I want to show up,” Breana reflected in an interview with an online portal, OutKick.

Stewart’s trailblazing history with USA Basketball dates back to 2009, when she first competed at the U16 as a 14-year-old.

Since then, she has managed to bag three Olympic golds and three World Cup titles.

She has also been named MVP of the 2018 World Cup.

Team USA has won convincingly in a knockout game against Hungary on Thursday, September 10, with 108-56 points, with Stewart scoring 19 points, along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Now with this 52-point thumping win, Team USA awaits the result from the Australia vs. Spain match set for Saturday, September 12, to faceoff in the semis.

Before that, through her three games, Stewart had been averaging 10.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and three assists.

Hopes are skyrocketing as Team USA is seen as a strong contender to defend its title; if managed to win for the fifth time, that would give Stewart a fourth World Cup title.
