Prince William, Kate to reclaim spotlight from Sussexes in historic event

Prince William and Princess Catherine will be making a joint appearance at a memorable event nearly a week after a key event was abruptly cancelled for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will attend the Royal Film Performance World premiere of Digger on Tuesday to support the Film and TV Charity as it marked its 100 years during the 73rd Royal Film Performance.

This will be the couple's second major appearance since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have returned to Britain, as speculation grow over a possible "rival court".

Last week, royal editor Charlotte Griffiths had revealed that Diana Award charity had made a sudden move, allegedly due to the backdoor talks that have been taking place between Harry and William.

The brothers are estranged and William, in particular, is still furious at Harry. It was reported that Harry was due to lead the black-tie gala dinner for the charity, which was set to be held at Raffles London at The OWO on September 18.

Sources shared that Meghan was also to accompany Harry to event but William did not want that to happen.

Diana Award is the only charity that still has both William and Harry as patrons and Griffiths expressed this is “one of their last forms of communication”.

The timing appears to be interesting for the string of events. If Prince William did influence the cancellation of the glitzy event for Diana charity, only to make a glamorous outing of his wife and himself days later, this was clearly a move to take the spotlight away from the Sussexes.
