Britney Spears is addressing her estranged father’s leg amputation after three years.

In a since-deleted Instagram post shared on Sunday, September 13, the Princess of Pop shared a throwback picture of her walking with her two sons, Sean and Jayden, as she held the latter’s hand. In the post’s caption, Britney appeared to draw parallels between her father’s 2023 leg amputation and her own symbolic inability to use her own feet until she broke free of her 13-year conservatorship.

“[Sean is] pushing Jayden when I started to use my own feet not guided by anyone,” the-44-year-old reflected. “For some reason as a baby he always did that, I thought it was cute… GUIDE ME AND LEAD ME WITH YOUR FEET FOR YOUR NAMESAKE.”

The Grammy-winner continued, “For 15 years I was never allowed to say my name in the land of the free and travel spontaneously. Not one time… Every place I traveled was for work for my dad and mother…”

Britney added that her recent trips to Mexico awakened her “inner child,” revealing that she “never felt so alive.”

“My damn life,” the Toxic hitmaker continued. “But you all know me I’ve forgiven and been the bigger person always RIGHT. I wonder why god took my father’s legs away? Did he take my name away and existence in MURICA HOME OF THE FREE!!”

Jamie Spears, not to be confused with the singer’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, had his right leg amputated in November 2021 following complications from his knee replacement surgery. He was recently seen attending the graduation of Jamie Lynn’s daughter Maddie’s high school graduation in May.

Arriving in a wheelchair, he was pictured alongside his ex-wife, Lynne Spears, and Britney’s eldest son Sean Preston.
