Oliver Hudson reveals the hard side of being Goldie Hawn's son

Oliver Hudson has shared a very personal side of growing up with one of Hollywood’s biggest stars as his mother.

The 50-year-old actor is Goldie Hawn’s son and Kate Hudson’s brother.

He also grew up with Kurt Russell as his stepfather, meaning that he always was surrounded by famous people.

During the first episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Oliver spoke about how his family’s success has sometimes made him feel unsure about himself.

“Coming from a successful family, I wrestle with comparison. I wrestle with insecurity,” he said.

“My mother's an icon, so a part of me feels like I have to accomplish something greater for them to be truly proud of me.”

Oliver has spoken about the same feelings before. While taking part in the Great American Baking Show, he joked that winning a trophy felt like a big moment because he does not get many wins in his famous family.

He has also shared how therapy helped him deal with his feelings.

Oliver said it was once hard for him to openly tell his mother, sister and wife how much he loved them.

“I've been in a lot of therapy and have dealt with a lot of stuff to be able to be vulnerable, to be able to express emotion and not be afraid of it.”

Even with those struggles, Oliver has made it clear that he loves and deeply respects Goldie.
