Sabrina Carpenter defends her team after Madonna exposes them

Madonna may have accidentally put Sabrina Carpenter’s team on blast but the Espresso hitmaker was quick to come to their defense.

At the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 27, the pop icons took home the Best Collaboration Moon Person for their song Bring Your Love.

During her speech, the Popular singer revealed she had been waiting for five days to hear from the Manchild songstress about whether she wanted to work on a song together.

With her patience apparently running thin, Madonna, 68, decided to take matters into her own hands.

“When five days passed and I still didn’t get connected with Sabrina and didn’t hear back from her... I DM’d her,” she disclosed.

According to the Queen of Pop, Carpenter, 27, replied, and within weeks the pair were already in the studio together.

The Material Girl maker went on to praise the Please Please Please singer as a “professional,” saying it had been “fabulous” working with her.

And just then Carpenter stepped in to set the record straight.

Upon her turn to speak, she thanked for the win and before leaving the stage, the Short n’ Sweet tour superstar clarified, “My team replies, just so everybody knows.”

“They do respond to people, but I respond faster, so direct line to me is always the best way to get in contact,” she added.

So, there you have it. No hard feelings, no drama just Madonna being Madonna and Carpenter being quicker at replying.
