Chris Evans dons 80's look for new movie: Pictures inside

Chris Evans is trading his superhero suit for a sharp 80’s look as he steps into his latest movie.

The Avengers star, 45, was spotted on the Los Angeles set of My Darling California, a crime thriller that has recently started production.

Evans was dressed in a gray vest and matching trousers, paired with a white shirt, rolled-up sleeves and a burgundy tie.

Brown shoes and neatly styled hair completed the look.

Other set photos caught him in a more laid-back outfit: a graphic T-shirt, jeans and a baseball cap. A little less polished, but still a far cry from Captain America’s uniform.

John Michael Higgins was also seen on set, though his character has not been revealed. 

The film boasts a stacked cast, including Chris Pine, Mikey Madison, Don Cheadle and Jessica Chastain. Elijah Bynum wrote the screenplay and is directing.

According to Deadline, the story is set in 1980 Los Angeles and described as “an American noir of ambition, greed and violence, and a love letter to the darker side of California.”

The plot follows “a single crime that weaves together the lives of a fallen news anchor, her cheating televangelist husband, two small-time crooks, an ex-con and a rising country music idol. Their fates collide in a web of crime, seduction and deceit.”

With a cast like that and a tangled crime story, Evans’ latest role looks set to take him into considerably murkier territory than saving the world.
