Duchess Sophie praises women peacebuilders for their 'invaluable work'

The Duchess of Edinburgh put women peacebuilders at the heart of her latest engagement as she attended the second day of ICAN’s “Security Reimagined” conference in The Hague.

Sophie met women peacebuilders during the event, taking time to hear about their work and the challenges they face while helping build peace in communities affected by conflict and instability.

The Duchess also thanked the women for their invaluable work and contribution, recognising the vital role they play in creating safer and more peaceful societies.

Last week Sophie delighted royal fans with a recent appearance, but one particular detail left some viewers less than impressed.

The Duchess of Edinburgh attended a special luncheon at St James’s Palace last Wednesday, September 23, in her role as patron of the Hallé Concerts Society.

The gathering celebrated the “important relationship” between industry and culture in the UK, bringing together guests from both worlds for an afternoon at the royal residence.

Sophie’s appearance came just days after another outing sparked plenty of discussion among fans, with a video of the royal dancing in Zambia prompting a mixed response online.
