Anne Hathaway is looking back at her viral Verity premiere moment—and apparently, she’d like to rewind the whole thing.

The actress found herself at the center of a hilarious red carpet clip earlier this week after photographers struggled to organize a group shot featuring the movie’s stars. Naturally, Hathaway stepped in.

What followed? Full-on mom mode.

“We are going to start from the left and then we can make our way that way,” Hathaway told the photographers, pointing and counting to help coordinate when everyone should start taking pictures.

Her co-star Dakota Johnson appeared ready to escape the chaos, joking afterward, “And then I’m gonna leave.”

But Hathaway’s attempt at crowd control quickly went viral. During her appearance on The Tonight Show, she admitted the clip was not exactly the career moment she had envisioned.

Anne called the video “the stuff of nightmares,” explaining that she went into “mom mode by way of chorus line.”

“I was trying to be helpful. There were so many of us and the photographers were getting upset, and the vibe was changing.”

Unfortunately, Hathaway’s good intentions came with an immediate dose of regret.

“As soon as [I] was done,” she recalled, her first thought was, “Oh, no.”

Then came the apology.

“I apologize everybody. That girl came out to play last night. Actually, she didn’t come to play. She came for business.”

Honestly, if organizing a chaotic red carpet is wrong, Hathaway clearly has no regrets about at least trying.
