Geo team attacked to cover up attempted rape by policemen

RAWALPINDI: Police and their henchmen Wednesday brutalized a Geo News team at the Rawalpindi Benazir Bhutto Hospital.

According to details, Geo News reporter and cameraman arrived at the hospital to cover the story of a girl who had reportedly slit her own throat during a rape attempt that too by some policemen.


Police, according to the Geo News correspondent, in cahoots with the rapist tried to stop Geo News from reporting the actual story, which they (police) were trying to dub as a suicide attempt.

Also, cops were pressuring the hospital administration to discharge the girl even in this critical condition.

The injured correspondent told Geo News that police and their civilian sidekicks, who were the local ward boys, inflicted serious bodily harm upon him and his cameraman. They also damaged reporting equipment beyond repair.
