KARACHI: The life in Lyari, a stronghold of Pakistan People's Party (PPP), is coming back to normalcy after days of violence, Geo News reported Tuesday.
Tension gripped different areas of Lyari today as some miscreants blocked the road by burning tyres but after the deployment of police and frontier constabulary personnel the situation came under control.
The residents of the area were facing severe difficulties as businesses were forced to close down while people had to stay indoors due to the on-going operation.
Protesters blocked the Lee Market road by setting tyres ablaze and pelted stones.
Lyari violence finally saw a letup late in the night between Monday and Tuesday with Rangers patrolling the hostile territories to ensure the ceasefire lasts.
The violent skirmishes devoured at least seven people including the Vice President of PPP Lyari, Hassan Soomro on Monday.
