Lahore: Youme-Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH) security plan chalked out
LAHORE: Law enforcement agencies have chalked out a comprehensive plan to ensure security for the foreign nationals, government installations, minorities, and general public during the observance of Youm-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH), Geo News reported.

Areas falling between Governor House and US Consulate have been declared a Red Zone under the security plan.

Police have blocked all the roads leading to US Consulate with containers.

Around 15,000 riot police have been deployed between Nasir Bagh and US consulate.

According to officials, cops will take position at the daybreak right after Fajar prayer.

It is pertinent to mention that Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) will stage “Labbaik Ya Rasoolallah” rally on Friday from Nasir Bagh to GPO Chowk.

SIC Chairman, Shahibzada Fazal Karim, will lead the protest rally.
Earlier, SIC chief welcoming the government’s decision regarding countrywide holiday on Friday appealed to the masses to participate in the protests against the blasphemers in to display their love for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and a show of national solidarity on this vital issue.

Apart from SIC, a number of groups have announced rallies and protest demonstrations on Friday.

Protesters have been strictly warned of resorting to vandalism as it would only serve the purpose of anti-Islam elements.
