ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC)’s sub-committee for petroleum is meeting here on Monday to deliberate the burning issue of the fixation of CNG prices, which following the Supreme Court intervention was cut down by more than Rs30.
Meanwhile owners of CNG stations took the stance that they cannot sell CNG at a loss. Vehicle owners and commuters across the country have suffered most due to non-availability of CNG.
This committee headed by Jamshed Dasti would be formulating recommendations for the resolution of the tiff over fixation of CNG prices, which has made lives of the people difficult. The public demands that this issue be decided immediately so that they can be relieved of the ordeal of standing in long lines to get purchase CNG.
Huge pilferage of petrol worth billions from the PSO reserves would also come up for discussion in this committee meeting for which the concerned officials have been issued notices.
On the other hand, the Supreme Court hearing on CNG prices will also be resumed in the current week.
