Indian FM Sushma Swaraj arrives in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: India Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday arrived in Pakistan to participate in the Heart of Asia Conference, 5th Ministerial meeting on Afghanistan.

Senior officials of Pakistan’s Foreign Office warmly welcomed Sushma Swaraj at Noor Khan Airbase.

The Indian Foreign Minister will meet PM Nawaz Sharif and Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.

It is the first visit by an Indian foreign minister in three years. It was during the PPP government that Pakistan’s first woman Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar played host to her Indian counterpart SM Krishna from the Congress government.

Sources said announcement on Pak-India cricket series is likely to be made during the visit.

Briefly speaking to media persons on the occasion, the Indian Minister said she has brought with her a message of better bilateral ties which grow further with the passage of time.
