Geo News official twitter handles hacked

KARACHI: On Thursday morning a little before 9:00AM Geo News’ twitter handles, @geonews_english and @geonews_urdu were compromised and multiple tweets have been sent till now by the hacker or hackers that have gained control of our accounts.

While we are in the process of regaining control of the accounts we request our followers not to pay heed to the tweets being sent from these accounts.

In a similar fashion senior journalist and leading talk show host Hamid Mir’s official verified twitter account was also hacked on the 08th of December.

At the time Geo News’ Director News Rana Jawad had confirmed on twitter that Hamid Mir’s account had been hacked. This time around the hackers have also gained control of Rana Jawad’s account and are misusing his handle @ranajawad.

In the mean time, we request our followers not to take any of the tweets posted after 8:30AM PM on Thursday the 10th of December to be information shared or posted by Geo News or any member of TeamGeo.
