LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Rana Mashhood Wednesday night emerged unscathed from an armed assault on his electioneering convoy here, Geo News reported
While Mashhood escaped unhurt, a PML-N worker sustained minor injuries in the attack, sources said.
Rana Mashhood is running for a Punjab Assembly seat in the Saturday's general elections.
Talking to Geo News, Rana Mashhood said, he and his campaigners were driving through an area on Wednesday night when a stone landed on his car forcing his driver to push the brake. As soon as the car came to a screeching halt the unknown snipers started shooting at it, he added.
“By the grace of Allah Almighty there were no casualties except for one of our worker who received some injuries which were not serious”, said the PML-N candidate.
According to Mashhood's account the attackers fled away after firing quick shots.
