LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to end its protest here at Mall Road on Saturday night, but added that the demonstration will be resumed on Monday.
Earlier, the PTI started their protest shortly after its detained leaders and workers were released from police stations. PTI Punjab President, Ejaz Chaudhry after the release had called on PTI district committees to protest outside press clubs across the province.
DIG Operations, Rao Tahir had announced that PTI workers and leaders would be arrested again if they blocked roads.
Earlier today, police had arrested several PTI workers and leaders, uprooting their hunger-strike camp which was setup on Mall Road to protest against the alleged rigging in the by-elections on PP-150.
The police crackdown drew strong criticism from the PTI chairman Imran Khan and other senior leaders.
