Pakistan’s internal security policy prepared: Nisar
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan informed reporters on Saturday that Pakistan’s internal security policy had been prepared and would be tabled in cabinet on Monday.

The interior minister said the policy was aimed at strengthening the country’s security agencies by equipping them with the latest technology.

Nisar further said the new leadership of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) refused to hold talks with the government following drone attacks. He added that talks will be held in line with the constitution and writ of the country. “The government will welcome those who want to take part in the dialogue process.”

According to Nisar there had been development in the dialogue process with the Taliban. “The country’s political leadership and Parliament will be taken into confidence once the process develops further.”

Earlier while addressing the passing out parade of the Islamabad Police, Nisar told cadets that Pakistan had no role in the 9/11 tragedy and the country was still passing through difficult time and is in a state of war.

“The efforts and sacrifices contributed by Pakistan in war against terror have not been acknowledged properly. After the war on terror, world became safer but Pakistan became even more unsafe,” Nisar said.

The minister said that responsibility of the police department has increased manifold in the current circumstances and that the department will have to show extra ordinary performance in war against terrorism. Police will have to combat hand in hand with the Pakistan Army against the odds.
