KARACHI: Vehicle scanning systems have been installed at the entry and exit points of Karachi in order to prevent supply of weapons and narcotics.
According to Rangers’ spokesman, vehicle scanning systems have been installed at toll plazas and now all kinds of vehicles including trucks can be scanned. This system will go a long way in putting a check on illegal weapons and drug-trafficking.
The system can also scan tyres of vehicles to detect if they are stuffed with illegal items.
Colonel Kaleem Elahi of Sindh Rangers said the scanning machine looks like a truck which takes four men to operate.
"Initially, three scanning machines have been imported from China", he said.
