KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Monday filed a petition in Sindh High Court (SHC) seeking withdrawal of two cases against him.
In the petition Waseem Akhtar stated that false cases had been lodged against him for treason and inciting people to violence.
"I am a patriotic citizen and the cases were registered against me to achieve political objectives," Waseem said in the petition.
Later, the court issued notices to Advocate General Sindh, Prosecuter General Sindh and others for further proceedings to be held on December 8.
