JI Amir Sirajul Haq opposes martial law
KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq has said that martial law should not be imposed in any circumstances as it had also inflicted harm.

Speaking to media on late Saturday night, he said that politicians will themselves resolve the current issues, a reference to latest political situation when PTI and Dr Qadri are staging sit-ins in Islamabad.

He said he was in contact with all the parties and will meet opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah today but the government should also take first step to resolve the issue.

The JI Amir said that it will become difficult to unite different ethnicity and sects if the Constitution was abrogated. He said the army had been neutral so far.

Haq also appealed to people to attend Jamaat's million march to show solidarity with people of Gaza.
