Unknown attackers ambush JI rally in Karachi

KARACHI: Unknown men attacked Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) rally at Al-Azam Square in Karachi late on Friday night.

Sources said JI’s election campaign rally was passing nearby the Al-Azam Square when unidentified attackers ambushed it and smashed the windowpanes of the vehicles.

Meanwhile, JI Spokesman has alleged that party’s NA-246 candidate Rashid Naseem was the prime target in the attack, launched from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) camp. He said several party workers sustained injuries, however, Rashid remained unhurt in the ambush.
