Troll of the century: Chris Gayle names his daughter ‘Blush’

In what is being termed as the troll of the century, hard-hitting West Indian opening batsman Chris Gayle has named his first-born daughter Blush.

And “Blush won’t Blush, my baby,” he said on Twitter.

“We would like to welcome the arrival of our beautiful daughter 'Blush' to this world 2 hours ago, Thank God. #GoodHealth&Strength - The greatest gift and feelings anyone would want. Great experience witnesses every bit of it. Have to give my blessings to Tasha, strong woman. #Amen,” the 36-year-old Jamaican announced Thursday on Instagram.

Those wondering why the Caribbean star named her daughter ‘Blush’ need to remember Gayle’s T20 stint at the Australia’s Big Bash earlier this year.

He was fined $7,000 over an attempt to flirt with Australia’s Network Ten reporter Mel McLaughlin.

Things turned out to be a bit nasty for Gayle when he asked McLaughlin out for a drink during an on-screen presentation.

Gayle had just hit 41 from 15 balls to help the Renegades to victory over the Hobart Hurricanes in the nationally televised match in Tasmania when he was approached by McLaughlin.

After suggesting that he had played well in order to get an interview with McLaughlin, the big-hitting batsman proceeded to direct personal comments towards her.

“To see your eyes for the first time is nice,” the 36-year-old said. “Hopefully we can have a drink afterwards. Don’t blush baby.”

Gayle said he was happy to be interviewed “just to see your eyes for the first time”. He added, “Don’t blush, baby,” before saying, “Sorry!” and bursting into a big laugh.

The hard-hitting batsman remained apologetic, but kept on insisting that the on-screen flirt was blown out of proportion.
