RAWALPINDI: Sheikh Rasheed on Thursday said that not only Islamabad but Rawalpindi will also be shut down for protests.

“Will break Section 144 into 144 fragments,” announced Sheikh Rasheed hinting at his gathering in Rawalpindi on Oct 28.

The Awami Muslim League leader was addressing a press conference in Islamabad where he said if the protesting leaders were arrested then they would begin a lockdown of the entire country.

While responding to a question, he said if the government made matters worse then Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s Tahirul Qadri will come to Pakistan.

The protesters for Nov 2 Islamabad sit-in should gather ration of seven days, he said.

At the occasion, he also criticised the opposition leaders namely Khurhseed Shah, Asif Zardari, Mehmood  Achakzai, and Asfandyar Wali.

Today, PTI chairman Imran Khan challenged the Islamabad High Court decision barring him from blocking the capital and said that no power could stop him from holding a sit-in on November 2.

Imran Khan's party is due to protest over the matter of Panama leaks in Islamabad on Nov 2.

On Wednesday, Sheikh Rasheed said that he had received a notice from Evacuee Trust Property Board to leave 10 marlas land of his residence, Lal Haveli.

The notification stated that Sheikh Rasheed’s hold on Lal Haveli's portion is illegal. Chairman of the board Sadiq Al Farooq said that the hold on the area must be relinquished within 15 days.
