KARACHI: The latest offering by Karachi's ArtChowk gallery includes works of four new artists trying to make sense of the ever-changing world around them.

The inevitability of change and its challenges are expressed in works of art by Adnan Mairaj, Noorulain, Sophia Mairaj and Sujjal Kayani.

Better or worse sharing their experience and reaction to change in their respective surroundings, most of the artwork created depicts a longing for the old and days gone by.

With a training in miniature, visual artist Adnan Mairaj through his 'Karachi to Lahore' series of etching on print maps revisits a journey of the past which is not forgotten.

The nostalgic narrative can also be seen in Sajjal Kiyani's restoration series. The Karachi based artist has painted her stories of past and faded memories literally brick by brick.

On the other hand, artist Sophia Mairaj's graphite work on paper is all about shadows.

The exhibition will continue till November 15 at ArtChowk Gallery, Karachi.
