KARACHI: Teenage boy Muhammed Ahmed who was tortured by his teacher at the Larkana Cadet College spoke his first few words after his third successful surgery at a private hospital in the United States.

In a video message received by Geo News, Ahmed said “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pakistan Army Zindabad”. Ahmed, who is undergoing speech therapy, spoke in a croaky voice and asked people to pray for him.

“Please pray that my voice gets better so that I can come home and resume my studies,” he said. Ahmed’s health seems visibly improved and in the video, he is standing without any support.

The shocking case was reported by Geo News in November last year where Ahmed after being tortured by his teacher was rendered mute and paralysed. Doctors said that he had been strangulated and sensitive nerves on his neck had been broken.

His father Ghullam Ahmed brought him to Karachi after he failed to get treatment in Larkana.

Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah in November approved the treatment of the torture victim and directed the health department to make necessary travel arrangements for Ahmed and his father.

Ahmed reached the United States for medical treatment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Ohio on February 16.
