KARACHI: The stage is set, the guitars are amped and the band tees are out.

That's right, the long wait for the fans is finally over as Junoon will set the stage on fire, reuniting after 13 years in the city of lights. Geo and Sooper have partnered to bring the band to the Junoonis at Karachi’s DHA Sports Club (Moin Khan Academy) today.

Khumariyaan, Tamaasha, Lyari Underground, and Sounds Of Kolachi will also be performing at the concert.

Gates for tonight's concert will open at 2pm and close at 5pm. The show will kick-off at 6pm.

According to Peak Freans Sooper's official Facebook page, the tickets for tonight's show have been sold out.

Founded by Salman Ahmad in 1990 in Lahore, the Sufi rock band Junoon released multiple albums and performed all over the world. In 2005, the band split as O’Connell returned to the United States and lead vocalist Ali Azmat and guitarist/vocalist Ahmad went their separate ways to launch solo careers.

It’s not just the fans who can’t wait for the reunion; the band members are equally keen to make their return.

In an interview with Geo News, guitarist Ahmad said that, “Unity, faith and discipline, that’s the message we want to give [to our fans]”.

“When people work together to achieve something, then you can see the passion, dedication in their work. Junoon and Geo are going to be a super show!” he added.

Bassist Brian O'Connell said the band is practising hard to put on a fantastic show.

“We want to give the fans a really good show, and that’s exactly what we are practicing for. I’ve missed the fans,” the New York-based musician said.
