Looks like DC has found its news Batman or are close to signing him.

According to Variety, Robert Pattinson is in negotiations to play Batman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming superhero film.

While it is not a done deal, Variety reports that Pattinson is the top choice for the caped crusader and is expected to close shortly. Warner Bros, on the other hand, has made no comment yet.

Robert Pattinson is best known for his role as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight series and as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter series.

However, Deadline later added that Robert Pattinson hasn’t put pen to paper yet and that Nicholas Hoult is also in the running. Pattinson, however, is still the favourite.

Earlier this year, Ben Affleck turned in his cape and utility belt after having portrayed the Caped Crusader in three films, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League.

While Affleck helped write the story for the upcoming film, he reportedly did not feel he was right for the part as this movie will focus on a younger version of the character.

The Batman will hit theatres on June 25, 2021.
