KARACHI: Pakistan’s most-celebrated wrestler Inam Butt has set his eyes on winning another gold medal for Pakistan in next month’s South Asian Games in Nepal.

Inam, who won Gold in Asian Games earlier this month, has started training for the regional event at his hometown, Gujranwala, as wrestlers were still waiting to hear a final word from the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) on proper camp for the event.

The South Asian Games are scheduled to commence from December 1 at Nepalese capital of Kathmandu.

“Time is very short and I have to keep myself ready for the South Asian Games. So, instead of waiting for a proper camp, I have started training in Gujranwala.

"I am doing all the hard work and putting all the possible efforts in to prepare myself for the event,” Inam Butt told Geo.tv.

“Wrestlers from other countries are also coming after months’ long preparatory camps,” he said adding that he expect tough competition from Indian and Afghanistan’s Wrestlers.

However, Inam was confident of winning another gold medal for Pakistan. “I have my eyes on Gold medal and, InshaAllah, I will win one more Gold for country and keep Pakistan’s flag high,” he said.

Inam recently won a gold medal for Pakistan at World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar. He has two gold medals each from Commonwealth Games and World Beach Games Gold to his credit and one from Asian Beach Games.

The wrestler had overpowered India’s Gopal Yadav in 2016 South Asian Games at Guwahati, India. The Pakistani star is confident of once again winning the show.

“I request everyone to keep praying for me,” he said when asked if he has any message for his country folks.
