KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing on Monday arrested three men accused of harassing a woman on the Internet and blackmailing her through revenge porn.

According to FIA officials, the three men were taken into custody following a raid in Pakistan's southern port city.

The officials explained that one of the men became friends with the woman and recorded explicit pictures and videos of her. The second of the suspects then convinced the first one to blackmail the woman and extort money from her. The third then created fake profiles of the woman on Facebook and started harassing and intimidating her, they added.

The group of men had saved all the revenge porn images and videos on a device, the FIA officials said.

A first information report (FIR) has been registered against the three arrested suspects under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
