KARACHI: During proceedings of Sarfaraz Shah murder case Friday, the anti-terrorism court (ATC) expressed anger over the absence of the investigation officer and summoned IG Sindh immediately, Geo News reported.
After the IG Sindh was summoned, the investigation officer, Sultan Khawaja and other police officials rushed to the court. Sultan Khawaja and SP Dr Mazhar were stopped from entering the court.
On Friday, the statement of the chief gardener of the Benazir Bhutton Shaheed Park, Muhammed Ramzan was recorded. In his statement Ramzan said that after listening to the firing he arrived at the spot and saw the young man wearing a pant and shirt covered in blood clinging to his life. He added that the Rangers were standing around the young man.
“The man who caught the young man and Rangers were present in the court” Ramzan said.
An anti-terrorism court is hearing the murder case of Sarfaraz Shah, the young man who was killed in broad daylight at a park in Clifton, Karachi. Seven including six Rangers have been accused of his murder and if convicted could face up to life in prison or the death penalty. The murder caused shockwaves when footage of the incident was shown on news channels across the country.
