LAHORE: The Dengue virus claimed nine more lives in the city and the overall death toll now stands at 170, Geo News reported. Across the province 187 people have been killed from the virus.
During the last 24 hours, 700 new Dengue cases have been reported in Punjab and presently there are 1,862 patients admitted in various hospitals across the province.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said the provincial government is taking steps to control the rapid spread of the Dengue virus during the next monsoon season.
Shairf also called the virus not only a medical but a social issue as well.
