Meghan Markle takes U-turn after upcoming Netflix series gets new tag

Meghan Markle’s upcoming series, With Love, Meghan, is set to be released soon.

After months of speculations, the Duchess of Sussex will be seen in a eight-part series where she invites friends and famous guests to a California state, sharing cooking, gardening and hosting tips.

Ahead of its release on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, the series received the tag “reality TV” from Netflix, which may contradict a statement in the past.

As per the Mirror, back in 2020, after rumors and reports started swirling around that Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry would film a reality series for Netflix, their spokesperson straightforwardly replied, "The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows."

This came after not only when Meghan and Harry had signed a multi-million-dollar deal with Netflix to create shows but also when they released the audience favourite and rathe controversial docuseries, Harry & Meghan.

The couple also released several other documentaries, that include one about Harry's Invictus Games for wounded service personnel and another about the sport of polo.

All the productions by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been categorized by Netflix as biographical documentaries, social & cultural docs and US TV programmes, up until With Love, Meghan.

A summary of the upcoming series reads, "This inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-tos and candid conversation with friends, new and old.”

"Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected.She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same," it concludes.
