Abbie Chatfield has come under fire from fans of her partner Adam Hyde’s band, Peking Duk, for allegedly making herself the center of attention during their performances.
Chatfield, known for her role on FBoy Island, frequently joins Hyde on stage at both Peking Duk concerts and his solo Keli Holiday gigs, as per Daily Mail’s claims.
While some fans enjoy her presence, others have criticized her actions as overbearing, with one Instagram user commenting that her behavior appears “controlling” and disruptive for a performer.
Moreover, another fan wrote, “Abbie is all up in his space at gigs. It's like she can’t stand not being the center of attention. Surely it’s got to be annoying for a performer."
As per the publication, the backlash extended to online forums, where fans debated her involvement.
Some argued that her stage appearances could cause friction within the band, with one commenter stating, “No normal, healthy partnership requires the girlfriend to be part of the live shows.”
Despite the criticism, many fans have defended Chatfield, praising her and Hyde’s playful dynamic as one of the supporters wrote, “He literally interacts with her on stage; he could ignore her if he wanted to.”
Additionally, Chatfield and Hyde’s on-stage chemistry has sparked mixed reactions, especially after their public displays of affection during recent performances, such as Peking Duk’s set at the Rhythm and Vines festival in New Zealand and a New Year’s Eve show in Adelaide.
