Lily Allen just rang in her 40th birthday with a special celebration amid "tricky circumstances."

The singer took to Instagram on Sunday, reflecting on her recent birthday bash which was complete with her friends and family.

"Thank you to all my [beautiful] friends and family who showed up for me and made my birthday a special one under some tricky circumstances," she wrote in the caption, seemingly referring to her split from her husband of four years, David Harbour.

"Love you all," she captioned the post while tagging a few people.

Allen also shared a glimpse of her birthday cake that was covered in white frosting and topped with fresh berries, pink flowers, and her name and the number "40" in pink icing.

Her Miss Me? podcast cohost Miquita Oliver also paid her a birthday shoutout with a photo of the cake, captioning, "HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY SCHMILLY BON BILLY!! We love you Lily. Hope we celebrated you good and proper."

Several famous friends shared birthday wishes for Allen in the comments section of her post, including "Unwritten" singer Natasha Bedingfield, who wrote, "40 is the best."

The British pop star also dropped some sultry photos of herself on the day of her birthday, with the caption, "Happy Birthday to me."

Allen and Harbour were first linked in January 2019. They tied the knot with a Las Vegas wedding in September 2020.
