Bindi Irwin shared some insight into her health journey ahead of her emergency surgery.

A couple of hours before the Australian television personality was hospitalized on May 10 due to a ruptured appendix, she talked about her struggle with endometriosis calling it "a big journey," revealing how she is navigating it.

"I feel so bad because most women that I talk to, their endometriosis journey has been years and years and years of their life desperately searching for answers and help," she told E! News

The  conservationist went on to say, "And my hope is that by sharing my story, sharing my journey living with endometriosis will give other people the courage to continue to stand up for themselves.”

Irwin mentioned that she struggled with the symptoms for almost 10 years before she received a diagnosis.

"All I want is to help other people that are in the same position,” she noted. "Because it's a very lonely disease as well...It can leave you feeling incredibly isolated because of every canceled plan, every time you so desperately want to participate in life and you just can't.”

Irwin gave the update on her health just a day before she headed to an emergency for her appendix, due to which she had to miss her family’s annual Steve Irwin Gala as she was in Las Vegas at the time.

Her brother Robert Irwin updated People that the surgery was successful.
