Perrie Edwards just admitted that she and the Little Mix girls talk about Jesy Nelson’s infamous exit “a lot.”

The girl group, which was comprise of Nelson, Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall spent two decades together after the eighth season of The X Factor in 2011.

In 2020, Nelson announced that she was parting ways with the chart-topping group after she vocally addressed the toll that being part of a girl band had on her mental health.

Initially, the parting was reported to be a harmonious one, however, that was not the case as the remaining three girls of the band haven’t spoken to Nelson ever since her exit.

In an interview on Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend, the Shout Out To My Ex singer admitted that she and the girls “talk about” Nelson’s exit “a lot”, adding, “But I think in the moment, we did everything we could. So, some things just happen. It is really sad.”

Also confirming that they have had no contact with her for almost five years, she told Hammond, “We haven’t spoken since she left. It’s heartbreaking, isn’t it?

“I wrote a song about it, and every time I listen to it I cry. I think losing a friend in that same dynamic and in that same world, is just as bad [as breaking up with a romantic partner], if not worse,” Perrie Edwards concluded.
