Axl Rose allegedly takes “50 percent” of Guns N’ Roses’ income, as per their former manager.
Alan Niven, was the in charge of Guns N’ Roses from 1986 until he was fired by the vocalist in 1991.
Now, during his latest appearance on the Appetite For Distortion podcast about the November Rain group, Alan claimed, “It’s a control thing with Axl.”
He continued, "Here’s another little snapshot that is illuminating and goes to forming a correct perception. Axl takes 50 per cent of the income of Guns N’ Roses now. 50 per cent, OK? That, to me, is anathema. He is not Guns N’ Roses.”
Believing that Axl wants to "be in control of everything all the time,” Alan added, “They were five individuals. It was a chemistry. It was a moment.”
“But Axl wants to be in control of everything all the time. And look what that gets you. A boring solo record and a s***** thing of punk covers. And that’s it,” he further alleged.
This comes after Alan recently alleged that former rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin and the legendary Slash consumed a lot of drugs ahead of their tour of Japan.
Recalling his warning to Izzy, the former manager told Classic Rock, “They’ve got dogs and all kinds of electronic sniffing devices. You can’t take that with you. You’ll get nailed for sure. Go flush it now. You’ll be able to score there.”
“That’s a f*****’ waste of good smack,” was Izzy’s response according to Alan.
Recalling the incident, he further revealed that the rhythm guitarist was barely able to stand after the consumption and then discussed how Slash “managed to make it to his seat on the 747 on his own feet, but only just. He too employed the ethic of waste not, want not."
