Elsa Pataky has just now opened up about a promise that was broken by her husband, Chris Hemsworth.

While chatting with Harper’s Bazaar, the Fast & Furious 6 actress candidly discussed that the couple made the promise that they wouldn’t pick their home country as their main base.

For those unversed, Elsa Pataky is originally from Spain, and he is from Australia. The lovebirds first met in 2010 and tied the knot in the same year.

"I made him promise that neither of us would force the other to live in their country, because they were so far apart," the Hollywood actress began.

The couple, with their children, India Rose, Sasha, and Tristan, first lived in Los Angeles, California, but they found the city too ‘restricting.’

Revealing the reason for relocating to Australia, she explained, “It ended up happening because he took me to Australia, he showed me Byron Bay, and I fell in love; it was a paradise.”

In 2014, she and Hemsworth built the mansion, which has a nickname, Fortress Hemsworth, on a 4.2-hectare estate, estimated to be worth around $50 million, in Byron Bay.

Before concluding, Elsa Pataky shared, “Living in Madrid is complicated when you’ve already lived in the countryside, in the middle of nature; it’s hard.”
