Timeline of Katy Perry and Orlando's relationship from romance to rumors

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship has reportedly been a rollercoaster but, over the past few years they were on good terms, until, Katy was recently seen without her engagement ring which has sparked rumors of their relationship being on the rocks.

Where Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom Started: 

For those unversed, their love story started back in 2016 where they were seen getting way too close to each other. A source confirmed to Us Weekly that they were getting "extremely flirty and whispering to each other. He would lean in to whisper into her ear and touch the small of her back as they chatted."

Later on, Katy confirmed their relationship in an Instagram post, with both actors wearing matching robes. After dating for almost a year at the time the couple broke-up as confirmed by their representative, “Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.”

An insider told E! News “Katy pulled the plug... they both still love each other very much. Katy has built a really strong connection with Flynn,"

In 2017 April Orlando appeared in an interview and said, "We’re friends, it’s good... It’s better to set an example for kids and show that [breakups] don’t have to be about hate."

Orlando Bloom's Proposal To Katy Perry:

Then, in September 2018 the couple made their relationship official by appearing together in public. Next year, the actor proposed the day after Valentine’s Day with 4.5-carat ruby and diamond ring. The following March the couple moved in together.

According to the first outlet the couple was planning their wedding but had to postpone it as reported, "They changed the timing due to the location they want.”

Soon after that in March 2020, the couple announced their pregnancy in an Instagram post where Katy wrote, “It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music.”

In August 2020 the couple welcomed their first child and released a statement saying, "We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter"

Moving on, in February 2022, Katy revealed that they are planning their wedding but then again in 2023 is reported to have said their relationship as "challenging.”

"We’re in two very different pools," Orlando said. "Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands. Sometimes things are really, really, really, challenging. I won’t lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity."

While the couple hasn’t confirmed their split yet an insider reported to the New York Post in June 2025 "It's over. They're just waiting until the tour is done before they split."
