Prince George, the elder son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, is expected to follow in his uncle Prince Harry’s footsteps as he may be introduced to a major royal tradition this summer.
According to a report by the Hello magazine, the centuries-old custom was also followed by Prince George’s great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II at Balmoral.
This has been claimed by royal expert Duncan Larcombe, who wrote the 2017 book Prince Harry: The Inside Story.
The publication reported at 11 years old, the first child of the Prince and Princess of Wales might be considered ready to partake in quite a gruesome activity that has been performed by royal families and aristocrats for centuries: stag-hunting.
The royal expert told the Daily Express: "It was reported that he will join his father on a stag-hunting shoot while they visit the Balmoral estate this month. Traditionally, the blood of a hunter's first kill is spread on their face, a ritual that goes back centuries."
The claims about George came amid reports Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children are set to spend time at the Scottish retreat.
Balmoral had a special place in the heart of late Queen Elizabeth.
It is also a favourite residence of Prince William and Kate, where their three children can enjoy nature and spend time with the family without worrying about being watched by the world.
