Taylor Swift fandom appears to be polarised over the pop icon’s career moves this year, since the release of her album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The 35-year-old pop superstar drew mixed reactions to the 12th studio album among listeners, but she was able to achieve commercial success, to a record-breaking extent.

The Fate of Ophelia hitmaker landed in much criticism over the release of multiple vinyl variants for the album, for using the release as a cash-grabbing strategy and repackaging the same vinyl to sell in several colours.

Swift, however, paid no heed to the criticism for either her album or the vinyls and claimed that she had deliberately stepped away from fans’ opinions about her art.

No later than two months after the album release and the Showgirl release party event, the 14-time-Grammy winner announced her six-part docuseries with Disney+, which will include the final Vancouver show.

While Swifties expressed their excitement to revisit the two-year-long tour and get a peek into Swift’s life behind the curtain, behind the glamour and glitter, as she promised, many are disappointed by the documentary promo.

The Anti-Hero songstress has released several teasers for the upcoming release, but the majority of the clips focused on her relationship with now-fiancé Travis Kelce, whom she had just met at the time.

Although the critical Swifties admit that the Eras Tour performer meeting the love of her life on tour must be a significant highlight for her, they still believe it should have focused on her life as a globally famous pop star who is one of the most influential voices at present.

The documentary buzz also coincided with already rising criticism against Swift, after she stayed silent on the Trump administration, using her music to promote their political content.

The Lover songstress has still not addressed the music issue and dropped her new holiday season merch, infuriating fans even more.
